The Solution to financial vertigo

solution

As I mentioned, once your account grow above your emotional threshold it is very hard to control yourself from closing too early or becoming too greedy.

What I did for last one year is built an MS Excel file that inputs

  1. High & Low of my setup
  2. My Current Account Balance
  3. My Entry & Exit
  4. Individual ROI of each instrument
  5. Percent change of my positions

and calculates the NET ROI at any given moment based on live data feed from MT4 over DDE to Excel.

Now, I don’t need to worry about the actual amount regardless of my account balance and profit amount its all looks the same.

Done.

PS: The snapshot is just a summary there are around 12 sheets and over 9 months worth of work hours that went into this to bring out one value… The NET ROI.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – Leonardo da Vinci

Anyone ever came to my room knows how cluttered stuff are usually at my den. It use to be a pile of cluttered ****. My new year’s resolution is to follow new way of living. That is simple living. There are few really great blogs out there for suggestion regarding simple living lifestyle. My favorite is www.zenhabits.net

I’ve thrown away a ton of stuff out of my room that includes some really fancy (and expensive) gadget that I hardly ever used, and removed almost everything from my desk beside what I actually use. My ThinkPad T60 and a 15″ LCD Screen that works as a dual head trade station. And, of course a table lamp. Thats it.

Simple is always beautiful.
